Oversee financial management, administrative operations, and compliance for MCDI regional operations across East Africa.
About This Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance and Administration Manager to lead our financial management and administrative functions across our East African operations. This senior role requires someone with strong financial management skills, experience in donor compliance, and the ability to manage complex administrative processes in a multi-country context.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial integrity, managing donor compliance requirements, overseeing human resources functions, and supporting the overall operational efficiency of our regional operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with donor financial management requirements and procedures
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and foreign exchange transactions
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and donors
• Lead annual budget preparation and financial planning processes
• Manage human resources functions including payroll, benefits, and compliance
• Oversee administrative operations including office management and procurement
• Implement and maintain internal controls and financial procedures
• Support project financial management and cost reporting
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) required
• Minimum 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in consulting or NGO sector
• Strong knowledge of donor financial management requirements (World Bank, EU, USAID, etc.)
• Experience with multi-currency accounting and international financial reporting
• Knowledge of East African tax and regulatory requirements
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills
• Experience in HR management and administration preferred
