Entry-level consulting position focusing on environmental and sustainability projects across East Africa, perfect for recent graduates.

About This Role

Start your career in international development with MCDI as a Junior Consultant in our Environment & Sustainability practice. This entry-level position offers excellent training and mentorship opportunities while working on meaningful projects that address climate change, natural resource management, and sustainable development challenges. Based in our Dar es Salaam office, you will support senior consultants on various environmental assessments, sustainability planning, and capacity building projects. This role is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about environmental issues and want to make a positive impact in developing countries.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior consultants in project research and analysis • Conduct literature reviews and desktop research on environmental topics • Assist in data collection and field work activities • Prepare draft sections of reports and technical documents • Support stakeholder engagement activities and workshop facilitation • Maintain project databases and documentation systems • Participate in capacity building activities and training programs • Assist in proposal development and business development activities • Learn and apply international best practices in environmental consulting

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Geography, or related field • Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience • Strong academic record with focus on environmental or sustainability coursework • Basic knowledge of environmental assessment methodologies • Excellent research and analytical skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili • Proficiency in MS Office suite and GIS software preferred • Enthusiasm for learning and professional development • Ability to work in multicultural team environment
