About This Role

We are looking for a motivated Project Coordinator to join our Governance & Institutional Development practice based in Nairobi. This role involves coordinating complex multi-stakeholder projects aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, improving public sector governance, and supporting civil society organizations. The successful candidate will work closely with government agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners to implement governance reforms and capacity building programs. This is an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact on democratic development in East Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate project activities and ensure timely implementation of work plans • Manage relationships with government partners, civil society, and other stakeholders • Organize workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder meetings • Monitor project progress and prepare regular progress reports • Support capacity building activities for partner organizations • Assist in the development of governance assessment tools and methodologies • Manage project budgets and ensure compliance with donor requirements • Document best practices and lessons learned from project implementation • Support proposal development for new governance projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, or related field • 3-5 years of experience in governance, public administration, or development projects • Strong understanding of democratic institutions and governance principles • Experience working with government agencies and civil society organizations • Excellent project management and coordination skills • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Knowledge of East African political and governance context • Proficiency in English and Swahili preferred • Willingness to travel within the region
