About This Role

Join our dynamic Research & Analysis team as a Research Associate specializing in economic development. This role is perfect for someone passionate about understanding complex economic issues in developing countries and contributing to evidence-based policy recommendations. You will work on various projects including market assessments, economic impact studies, value chain analyses, and policy research. The position offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and exposure to diverse development challenges across East Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive economic research and analysis for client projects • Design and implement data collection strategies including surveys and interviews • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate statistical methods • Prepare high-quality research reports, policy briefs, and presentations • Support senior consultants in project implementation and client engagement • Maintain databases and ensure quality control of research outputs • Assist in proposal development and business development activities • Collaborate with international research institutions and local partners • Stay current with development trends and best practices in economic research

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Development Studies, Statistics, or related field • 3-5 years of experience in economic research or development practice • Strong quantitative analysis skills and proficiency in statistical software (STATA, R, or SPSS) • Experience with survey design and data collection methodologies • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Knowledge of East African economic context and development challenges • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Experience with qualitative research methods preferred
